The table

Thai island cooking with a wellness kitchen alongside: fragrant, fresh, and exactly as gentle or as fiery as you ask for.

  • Mains

Papaya salad, vegetable curries, grilled fish, pad thai done properly on non-detox nights.

Know before you go

Koh Phangan has two personalities and they never meet: the party moon of the southeast, and the quiet yoga north where our resort sits. Srithanu and the northwest coves run on coconuts, meditation timetables and 9pm bedtimes.

Getting there

Fly to Koh Samui (USM), then a 30-minute ferry; or Surat Thani (URT) plus a 2.5-hour ferry for a cheaper route. Pickup from Thong Sala pier is included.

Worth your free time

  • Koh Ma sandbar. Walk to an island at low tide; best snorkelling on Phangan.
  • Zen Beach. Srithanu's sunset gathering point; drums optional.
  • Wat Phu Khao Noi. The island's oldest temple, usually empty.
  • Bottle Beach. Reachable by boat or a sweaty jungle hike; worth either.

Eat this

  • Night market at Thong Sala. Pad thai, mango sticky rice and grilled everything for pocket change.
  • Southern Thai curries. Hotter than the tourist menus admit; ask for 'Thai spicy' only once.
  • Coconut everything. The island grew coconuts before tourists; the smoothies show it.

Good to know

  • 30-day visa exemption for most nationalities on arrival.
  • Scooters are the local transport; only ride if you already ride, and always helmeted.
  • Cash still rules on the island; ATMs cluster in Thong Sala.
  • Full moon week changes the island's mood; our dates avoid it.
