How do I fill my retreat?

Most retreats that do not fill have a positioning problem, not a price problem. Write the listing for one specific guest instead of everyone, answer the single-room question above the fold, and market to solo travellers — around 40% of retreat guests arrive alone and almost no listing speaks to them.

What does not work

The benchmark to price against

Per person per day with a private room included: Thailand and Sri Lanka $150–280, Morocco $150–280, Bali $200–380, Portugal and Spain $250–400, Mexico $250–400, Greece and Italy $350–550, Costa Rica $350–550, UK and US $350–650. If you sit below the band, say why on the page. If you sit above it, say why there too.

How much does a solo yoga retreat cost?

A well-run yoga retreat costs $150 to $650 per person per day with a private room included. Thailand and Sri Lanka sit at $150–280, Bali $200–380, Portugal $250–400, Greece and Costa Rica $350–550. A seven-night week therefore runs roughly $1,050 to $3,850.

Do retreats charge a single supplement for solo travellers?

Most retreats do. The typical single supplement is 30% to 60% on top of the shared-room price, which on a $2,000 week means $600 to $1,200 extra. Sola charges none: every published price already includes a room of your own.

Should I list my retreat on a marketplace?

It is worth it when the marketplace sends you a booking you would not otherwise have sold, and not worth it when it takes commission on a guest who already knew about you. Commission runs 10–25%; the honest test is whether the platform serves an audience you cannot reach yourself.
