Most solo retreat guests are between 30 and 55, with an average around 42, and the majority are women. Typical group size is six to twelve people. Retreats built around teacher training or party-adjacent surf camps skew a decade younger; ayurveda and silent retreats skew a decade older.

How to avoid being the outlier
Ask the host directly what the age range was on the last two departures. A host who runs good weeks knows the answer without checking, and a host who is evasive about it is usually managing a mismatch they already know about. It is a completely normal question and nobody sensible finds it rude.
