Ayurveda retreats for solo travellers
Ayurveda is the most frequently faked category in wellness travel. The test is simple: were you assessed before treatments were chosen? A genuine programme starts with a consultation, prescribes from it, and aligns your food to what you were given. Everything else is massage with better branding.

Questions people ask
How do I know an ayurveda retreat is legitimate?
Ask whether a doctor assesses you before treatments are decided, and whether the kitchen adjusts to the prescription. If treatments are sold as fixed packages you choose from a list, it is a spa.
Is it uncomfortable?
Rarely painful, often odd: a lot of warm oil, steam, and an early bedtime. Most people find day three is when the sleep changes noticeably.
Can it be combined with hiking or sightseeing?
Yes, gently. Our week pairs treatments with tea estate walks, cloud-forest hikes and a sunrise at the Nine Arches Bridge, so it is restful rather than static.
