Women-only retreats for solo travellers
Around 64% of the wellness retreat market is women, and roughly a fifth of solo female travellers book women-only trips specifically. What actually changes on a women-only week is not the activity list; it is that nobody is performing, and first-timer questions get answered rather than judged. Half our Alentejo group has never travelled alone before.

Questions people ask
Why choose a women-only retreat?
Most people say the same thing afterwards: it removed a low-level self-consciousness they had not consciously noticed. Practically, it also makes shared spaces, early mornings and open conversation easier for first-time solo travellers.
How do you check it is actually safe?
Seven checks before anything goes live: named host met on video, liability insurance and operating licence verified, licensed transfer drivers, a 24/7 contact who answers, emergency arrangements confirmed, real room photos, and honest availability.
Will I be the oldest or the youngest?
Unlikely to be either. Groups typically run 30 to 55 with an average around 42, and everyone booked alone.
