Cooking retreats for solo travellers
Cooking retreats are the fastest-growing way to travel alone, and the reason is structural: a kitchen gives you a task, a partner and a shared result. The dreaded unstructured group dinner becomes something you made together. If eating alone is the fear that stops you booking, this is the format that dissolves it.

Questions people ask
Do I need to be able to cook?
No. These are taught classes, not tests, and the group standard is usually enthusiastic amateur. You leave with recipes you can actually repeat.
Can dietary needs be handled?
Yes. Vegetarian versions of every class dish exist, Oaxacan food is largely corn-based and so naturally gluten-free, and Greek cooking is a vegetarian's dream. Tell us at booking.
Is a cooking retreat still restful?
Classes take mornings, not whole days. Oaxaca's afternoons are built around siesta culture, and the hammocks are serious equipment.
