Solo retreats in Bali
Bali is the world's most booked retreat destination, which is exactly why it needs a filter. Ubud's centre is busy now; the quiet is fifteen minutes north on the ridges, where the shalas look over rice terraces and the day starts at six. Honest Bali pricing for a solo traveller with their own room runs about $200 to $380 a day; far below that and something is being cut, usually the room.

Getting there
Fly into Denpasar (DPS). The drive to Ubud takes 60 to 90 minutes; your pickup is included and your driver will have cold water and no interest in small talk unless you do.

- Ubud Art Market. Go early, bargain gently, everything halves.

- Babi guling. Bali's suckling pig; the Ubud market stalls do it best before noon.
- Sari Organik walk. Lunch you walk twenty minutes through paddies to earn.

Is Bali good for a first solo retreat?
Yes. It has the deepest bench of vetted retreat centres anywhere, English is widely spoken, transfers are cheap and safe, and a large share of guests arrive alone, so eating and practising by yourself is completely normal.
How much should a week-long solo retreat in Bali cost?

When is the worst time to go?
January and February are the wettest months. Ceremonies can also close roads without warning, which matters if your retreat has tightly scheduled excursions.
